If I Loved If I loved as ardently as today, Would tomorrow find thee with someone new? If I loved in honesty only you, Have I the faintest hope that you would stay? Perhaps to entreat quietly, to pray, Might guarantee a love that would be true? And greater powers intervene, to skew The Fates to kindly send your love my way? Then, if in death my love should long endure, Would your soul seek mine in eternity? Where only time and circumstance assure, If all the saints should hear my plaintive plea, Can Heaven part the veil for love this pure, So always will my heart belong to thee? I prefer to be a dreamer among the humblest, with visions to be realized, than lord among those without dreams and desires. -Khalil Gibran |

"Can Heaven part the veil for love this pure" Yes, yes! Most decidedly but we must remember that we are not in possession of all the facts. What we think is "pure" may very well not be and what we turn away from may be our destiny ... but we will know either way. We will just know! Lovely read! Thank you! |

"Then, if in death my love should long endure, Would your soul seek mine in eternity?" ~ Most assuredly! ~ and she'd be well-advised to be with you in the present, as well! What a lovely expression of love from your romantic heart! ![]() Love & Light, EA |

Hi, Honeybunch (I still LOVE that name)! Oh, so true! How many people have turned to known unhappiness, and turned their backs on unknown happiness? The unknown is a frightening thing for most people, even many adventurous types, and must be approached carefully and slowly...if at all. Unfortunately, we all know that by the time these unhappy people decide to take the ultimate leap, the "Love Boat" has left the dock, and they just end up wet and cold. How sad... Anyhow, thanks for the nice comments! John I prefer to be a dreamer among the humblest, with visions to be realized, than lord among those without dreams and desires. -Khalil Gibran |

Thanks, Drauntz . I do try to please, often with varying results. I also write just for me, so the mix is a difficult one to master, and I definitely have not! Then again, I can't please everyone, can I? ...Although, there's no harm in trying, is there? ![]() John I prefer to be a dreamer among the humblest, with visions to be realized, than lord among those without dreams and desires. -Khalil Gibran |

Hi, EA! You're such an angel for saying so! Oh, but then your name...that is, about the "angel" part...what I mean is that... ![]() Oh, heck! Thanks. That's what I meant to say. "Thanks." And how did you know that I was a romantic? ![]() John I prefer to be a dreamer among the humblest, with visions to be realized, than lord among those without dreams and desires. -Khalil Gibran |
