Let's not try compromise I'm filled with curiousity to see how long you'll stay alive without my stout adversity Besides I think it's good for me to see my point so physically glaring like some crime tape framed composite of priority slightly tilted on the wall where my roses used to be This house will never be my home and both of us live here alone I think that says it all for me-- someday, somehow I'll have to leave even if by coroner or perhaps monotony of this slow pain withering of the ivy's curling leaves unrepentant in the fall each of them a piece of me suffering no more lying there upon the floor like confetti just waiting begging for a pan and broom and someone else to clean the mess because I doubt you will address what you always claimed as yours-- even after my last breath: I shall be filed away--"ignored." |

A VERY 'powerful' write!..... I find the following especially fine!: "Let's not try compromise I'm filled with curiousity to see how long you'll stay alive without my stout adversity...." I truly wish I had the talent and courage to 'write my pain'; etc.! Grand applause! |

serenity, I feel you, not only because your writing is so powerful, but because I see myself in those lines and know the pain intimately. You are so talented, I love reading you. ~Sheli~ By words the mind is winged |

I wanted to cry as I read this. I don't know what's wrong, Karen, but you have so much to share with so many, this one hurts. Sounds like you're throwing in the towel on something, which is so unlike you. Great writing, but I'm so sorry you're so hurt. (((Hugs))) Rae |

SIGH, oh lady Karen, wish I could sit and have a large drink by some serene lake with you right now! You write the "why" and "how" in emotions, of a sad reality...how a house is not always home. |

I keep returning to re-read this haunting poem. Chilling as an icicle held in bare hands; so much pain and sadness, so well stated. Masterful. |

Karen...I wonder if to admit to this, even while so alone, you end the cold slide. After reading, I felt the hurt, yes, but also the strength I've always seen in you (don't deny this healing quality.) Honesty is so hard to write. So many think of you as remarkable, you know, I'm one. |

Thank you all so much, and I realize there are many who think biographical verse doesn't qualify as poetry, but I don't care about them--it's an opinion and it doesn't hurt me to acknowledge it, and even respect that as an agreement to disagree. But this? If you felt this? Pray for me then, that there will come a day when this sort of thing doesn't hurt me anymore--then I will know I am free--cured-- and I promise you all I will try very hard to write of that joy too. Thanks again, for being friends. |

You are never, ever ignored by or to me, lady. I hope you are well. I'll try to drop you a line when I get my nose out of these books. <3 |

Wowser!!!! I love this... for though it resounds with hurt and resignation... there's also power and strength. Anyone who files you so inappropriately is pure ignoramus... for you, dear lady, are impressive... and incredible!!! And so is your poetry. *S* Of course... anyone who thinks biographical verse isn't poetry wouldn't think of reading my words... but maybe I could bellow it into their ears? *G* |

*laughing through tears* here... You are psychic Ruth. The timing of this being bumped at JUST THIS MOMENT is surreal. I wish I did make this up. Thank you lovely lady. and Love to all. |

Although I see this is written a little while ago, I know such feelings (as you confirm in your reply to Ruth) don't just disappear. I ache with you in your pain. However, as so many said, you are stronger than even YOU know, and you have created such beauty out of your pain. Perhaps you could (and do?) live in a secret world of your own where some of the pain is alleviated for a while. Anyway, here in Pip, there is a host of us who appreciate you (and laugh like parrots in a set of bagpipes at the thought of anyone being able to ignore our Serenity Blaze)! - Owl |

can I ditto ruth's 'wowser!'? anyway *nods head up and down* she loves it when I ditto her *s* no but really I am with ruth, your words here are searched for, and prized when found, never forgotten and never ignored... you mean much to us and if your words are not poetry...then I know not what the rest of us write, for yours is some of the best here |

You are all soooooooooo kind to me. And I'm gratified that you all like my stuff, 'cause I don't know how to write like anybody else, or BE like anybody else, so I just quit trying, or maybe I am just bored with myself. But I do appreciate you all very much. It's often said "you made my day" but alot of days, you all really DO. |
