in a big ole truck that wasn't usedta being there in a blind white trailer park leaving dust within the air as the "they" in them prevailed: curtains flouncing curious leaving shadows spurious like it wasn't there--the air was stifling me with not a tree to pass a square inch of repair of the sun parched questioning inquisition of the glare of a light bulb dangling a lover of entangling as my tongue would swell in parch splitting stolen truth and there was not a lie I had to tell sitting on the hot seat swing thinking I had gone to hell as kittens pounced upon my feet blistered by the graveling of a white hot trailer park. I decided "not to think" laughing like I had a choice my words - unfurled had ceased to form and I was left without a voice thinking I was so worldly now I was catastrophe and damn the difference of it-- as if, as if, my own intent meant I had some evidence to present in my defense like Perry Mason useta be... a hero with some big eyebrows and coal black eyes implying guilt like Johnny Cash or Daddy, ticked-- wishing I could hide real quick and avoid the bloody cloth of good tv reality and the twitch of willow swish pain against my legs...and wish I were giggled tickle glee in the clover patches green where white flower innocence grew abundant and profuse looking for four leaves, confused by boxes being brought to me my name on all of them? But I have things held in my mind that I keep forever kind-- like honeysuckle lotion, Jo sent me so I would smell so sweet that bees would envy me-- (I'm laughing now, it's on my feet) now that I am not country and snakes don't know my name. Jan sent me a paisley shirt button downed and it was worth every quarter that I spent washing out my nephew's scent-- he tried real hard to steal it and I ought to charge him some back rent-- but it's in my closet now.... Then there was this pair of shoes that made the wimmen scream "How cute!" Sunflowers in big ole blooms and they just felt like "yer home soon"-- I wore them everywhere I went and I am not done with them yet. I wore them whilst I was exiled. I wore them home to reconcile with the bridges bent and steel backbones of them that had sealed the cost of living anyway-- damn, I love these shoes: Winter wasn't harsh but hard trees were difficult to find I plugged a lamp of laugh and timed the fiber optic leaves and lied saying it was beautiful watching silver turn to blue without a single ornament weeping when I thought I could get away with tears I thought shield from harsh reality. I didn't want my kids to see. We had Christmas anyway my children, I nod - it was hard that day but we got away with it presence and it was as if, if miracles were every day and I wore my shoes that day like I do, sunny or gray, always hearing, "Those are cute!" Sunflowers yanno. Known for stength and loyalty abundance--proof of royalty and they bloomed in the debris of my city, New Orleans without a check or commitee they just bloomed here just like we did anyway, following the sun-- a kind of deja vu. * * * * * |

You do bloom, my friend....and put off a sweet scent, too....lol! I'm glad you put some more of the memories down, too. I think my favorite part is this: "We had Christmas anyway my children, I nod - it was hard that day but we got away with it presence and it was as if, if miracles were every day and I wore my shoes that day like I do, sunny or gray, always hearing, "Those are cute!" Sunflowers yanno." Lots of Lubs....jojo |

There is something very comforting about seeing those toe marks and knowing those sunflowers brought a smile to you when you needed it most. (I am going to bed too - had the girls since Wednesday, oh and the dog, and cat, along with my cat, and new teenager puppy, so I am pooped! See you in my dreams. |
