it's three o'clock in the morning.
Which means it is time to write.
Where do old socks go
when they pass through the wash?
Maybe old sock heaven?
And what about the bad ones?
Maybe to old sock "The other place."
Now I got to get back

As the mother of four ... I was convinced that the washing machine had a particular fondness for one of every kind and color of the pairs of socks that I fed it ~!~
This mom FINALLY figured out that all I had to do was buy the SAME kind and color of socks ... and matching 'em up was no longer a problem ... of course we were still short-socked a time or two ...

laughing at Marge's response because that is what I do now..buy all the same color and style socks so they would have to match..I use to safety pin socks together

enjoyed reading of the sock abyss...really...where do they go? Maybe someone should sell them in odd lots and we could call a yenta, no?

Ok!!! I think that one goes to sock heaven!! And the other stays in purgatory until you find it, tie a knot in it and give it to the dog! Then it goes to hell!!!! LOL This is cute!!!

Speaking as a serious 'scientist'?!.....

In my 'ever-most-humble' opinion, someday some 'brave soul' will be sailing a small boat through the 'Bermuda Triangle' on a calm, quiet, lovely day....when suddenly, the water around his sloop will begin bubbling and boiling with deterministic, turbulent ‘chaos'....and hundreds of millions of missing individuals and pairs will surround the craft in a grand-colorful sock-sargasso!

I truly believe the 'fate' of (billions?!) of the world's missing socks is one of the deepest and most profound mysteries of humankind. This grand-philosophic 'write' should return again (hopefully) to the top of the 'P.I.P.' queue!
