A Rose A rose is a rose is a rose A life is a life is a life Each a flower with its power A speck of time with its hour I’ve had my time to beat the drum My time has run so now I hum A childish song before I sleep I give my soul the Lord to keep No mater what I do believe The ends the same we all receive I cannot fight the tide of sweep Or keep my head above the deep I know I’ll change back into grime Perhaps to live again in time The chaos of infinity I’m stuck in this vicinity Each piece will touch the sum of call Each piece will be the sum of all |

Oh, Sir Sy, this poem touches my heart. Your words will always be with me, even when you are not. |

The first line here has run through my mind for quite some time, but I have as of yet to put it in writing. You, my friend, have done so, beautifully. Which is no surprise to me. |

I have been spending a lot of time lately concentrating on reading work of authors rather new to ‘P.I.P.’ and/or new to me at least; however, when I wish to be ‘pre-assured’ of a lovely ‘read’...with powerful imagery, I turn to folks like ‘Seymour’ where I can always find something that constitutes a most fine ‘write’! As a trained ‘Universalist’ [Complexity/Chaos] Scientist, I particularly liked the line: “The chaos of infinity” and: “A rose is a rose is a rose A life is a life is a life Each a flower with its power A speck of time with its hour…” and: “Each piece will touch the sum of call Each piece will be the sum of all!” much of ‘Nature’ involves dynamic (‘open’) systems wherein ‘Order’ is constantly, spontaneously ‘self-organizing’ out of ‘Chaos’ and later disintegrating once again back into it; and frequently, such systems display fractal ‘self-similarity’ across all scales of observation [the same ‘patterns’ repeating within such patterns; etc….. “Each piece (truly seeming) the sum of all”…as Seymour put it!] |
