I am tired of dressing to go out in the cold Putting on boots, hats and mittens just grows very old I am tired of ice and I am tired of snow I am tired of plugging my car in wherever I go The trees no longer look pretty The snow no longer looks white I just want winter to get the hell out of my sight! I am tired of woodstoves and ice fog and frost God, winter is making me weary and ever so cross I long so for summer and planted gardens so green I wish for fragrant breezes to carry my dreams Of flowers and butterflies and birds nesting in trees I am tired of winter and the mornings I freeze I am so sick of waking up to temperatures of thirty below I don’t want to start my car a half hour before I go I am longing for summer – and this is all I really have to say Thirty below really sucks when it is cold day after day aziza |

As Dixie said, "Come on down". Trade in the icy cold for hurricanes and tornado watches! LOL I made the trade in 1989 and I would not go back to shoveling snow in the early morning hours to get to work. Now I breeze through the darkened golf course at midnight and am there in three minutes. LOL. martyjo |

Boy, can I relate! Though it doesn't get that cold here in PA... but I sure do long for spring summer and fall! And today it's actually in the 50's here! Don't worry ! It'll get here soon enough! Great rant against the elements! Freedom Now |

Where the heck ARE you, anyway. Even in Missouri the crocuses are smiling up at us. Enjoy your work! |

Aziza, Don't get 30 below here, but I certainly sympathise with you, I too am not a winter lover and find it drains your energy. You spend more time trying to keep lively in the winter and less time just having fun! Your poetry lets me know how lucky I am.... Ivor |

Thirty BELOW??? omgodfrey I couldn't take that. I'm a true Florida cracker - born and raised here. Never seen snow (except for that tiny bit that fell here in '89 and shut the town down for 3 days LoL - we are so not equipped for snow) Yep - come on down - hit the beaches & rivers. I went fishing yesterday & it hit 83 degrees here in North Florida. Too bad the fish weren't biting too well but who cares - I almost have a tan and my daffodils came up and bloomed! LOL But bring a sweater - cold front is on the way and we're back in the mid 30's Sunday morning! A warm front for you |

"I long so for summer and planted gardens so green I wish for fragrant breezes to carry my dreams" I hear you loud and clear and feel the same way, and agree, "I just want winter to get the hell out of my sight!" Fun read here! always seeking joy, adventure and romance and wishing you find the same |

LOL, sounds as if you must be in my old stomping grounds, the interior of Alaska. Cheer up! But with global warming, you'll soon see bikini weather again. |
