God is on my side I have no need to hide You see I am his mate No Queuing at the gate So while you wait outside I am warm and safe inside He loves good folk like me Who set his people free No need to beg and crawl To me he gave it all Ask any boss you know Respect the crawlers? NO!… They need the ones that lead Not wounded men that bleed Licking round their feet What job will they complete Get up and get a life Think of a whinging wife The picture should be clear No Hangers On in here The clergy have a ball All those kids and all Your time they take for free They never could fool me It’s easy now to say From you they get their pay Their heaven is on earth With chubby face and girth While good folk they mock Dressed in a silly frock So pass along the plate You know it’s not to late Slip out the door real quick That should do the trick It’s your time that you waste Then have to live in haste See I know the glitch The Church is really rich It isn’t even funny They have so much money Eric Lance Davies |

This was verse inspired by UK law where recently a couple inherited a church…. The church was/is a listed building and they are now required to pay thousands of pounds to effect repairs. The church council or whatever were requested to support the cost of these repairs and refused saying it was down to the couple who inherited it. I am under the impression that as a listed building the owners apart from being liable for it’s upkeep would not be allowed to change the buildings “use” I didn’t follow the story any further….. |
