Demons of the night wing
contrive thy evil intent
on others more deserving
this soul rejects thy pitiful attempt

Shadowy specters of cruel device
torture no more this goodly heart
whose only sin was love
for one of distant abode

Black advocates of the pit
are not these tears, freely spent,
sufficient tribute to thy appetites?
This ache payment in full?

Putrid devils of broken hearts
show not thy ghastly countenance
in shameless display
at this fragile door

Tempestuous furies of deceit
this enduring love
will not be destroyed
by nameless beasts of prey

Be gone!
