I know the land where The lemon trees flower. My love met me near them To linger an hour. I kissed him, I hugged him And smelled the sweet scent, And prayed it stayed with him Wherever he went. The day was so perfect, The sky was so blue, The fragrance entrancing And love was so new. He broke off a blossom And gave it to me, And promised his love For an eternity. My friends are so happy To plan bridal showers And my wedding bouquet Is of lemon tree flowers. |

The Kingston Trio (among others) truly gave the Lemon tree it's due just as you have, dear Joyce. I always have time for you... |

Another beauty, Joyce. You never fail to make me feel transported. Your poetry has got even better than when I first read you in the original corner pub so many years ago. Thank you again. May your roof never fall in and those beneath it never fall out. |
