Sleep and rest are two different things Smiling in ignorance as I fail to perceive Beauty of dreams lost in far time The feeling I have this life is not mine Tired and cold in perpetual heat Sustenance fails, I admit my defeat There is nothing that I can grasp on my own This freedom chills me right to the bone But hope persists, yet I know it not A hand guides me, my attention is sought I dream, I cry because I'm alone But I carry myself forward with great strength unknown A moment of peace is all I cry for My life's work I fight, I smite and I die for Sound asleep I find no solace Fighting while writing 'bout life's secret promise I may never find, may never be found I may never stand, my knees on the ground I may even struggle against all hope I may be naive, my dream but a joke But somehow I can never stop believing I somehow refuse the lies I am seeing I know in my heart I am guided above I know that in one day... ... Just one day ... I will find true love Unorthodox maybe, but I grow on you. |
