the Dream the Dream comes again ripping, tearing, destroying 4am sitting alone, trembling. House quiet and still normal noises comforting can barely light a cigarette. Dream of dreams mostly trained to forget usually awaken, confused. Like a trauma patient missing a chunk of reality not even sure what is real. the Pain comes rushing in glad to fill the void struggle to open the bottle. Carefully shake out just one antidote swallowed washed down with yesterday. Twenty minutes or so... relief is on it's way pain defeated for four. the trembling begins anew pain coyly, slowly recedes the Dream awaits. Catch 22 or so it seems dream laughing, anticipating soon to own once again. Rolling insidious vapors envelope, claim, wrapping tendrils grasping, capture. Lay me down once again comfort in temporary quiet day, night, date, year meaningless. Only the now, it's the now that is... screaming silently, i lay me down the Dream comes again. ~~~~~ Daniel James Burt  |

Very descriptive of agony, day and night. I Hope this is only an imaginary piece of art. Very real. I can truly say that I seldom have a bad dream and I am grateful. Great work. Joyce |

thank you for the comments. sadly i have experienced this once upon a time i wrote 2 or 3 times a day... now it's rare that i write at all |
