This is the weirdest one I've ever written. I started off with an idea, and just went with the flow really... Mister Pessimist watches and waits for error, Before he can berate the wasteful terror Who inflicted such heinous pain upon him! Mister Pessimist cannot wait for death, Which he sees from the corner of his eye, Mister Pessimist cannot accept defeat, Because soon, he expects he will die. Mister Pessimist cannot accept happiness, Mister Pessimist must live a lie, Mister Pessimist cannot tolerate generosity, When, forever, he must ask “Why?” I knew Mister Pessimist, As he lurked upon the corner, Asking me from whence I came, From where I hail, Followed by wherefores and whys, Over and over again I hear Mister Pessimist died, And that Mrs Pessimist cried, For she could see no future, As her husband had duped her, With his stupid, false Sense of pride I am Mister Optimist, Who accepts fate, And never wonders, Who doesn’t blame God For meaningless blunder, Who doesn’t call hell over slightest of thunders, Who doesn’t call terror of inexplicable wonders… …Oh, it’s not true really, Just a warning about what will happen to Pessimists, Sometimes loved, sometimes kissed, But never secure… Not like Mr Ignorant Bliss!
