Just For the Joy Beside the lake, orange poppies grow Among the rocks.Their petals blow On windy days, across the skies Like pretty, flighty butterflies. Far in the distance, I can see What seemingly appears to be An orange field, that stretches wide Along the shoreline’s other side. I always come here in the spring Just for the joy that poppies bring. Then thank the Lord, most fervently For gifts like this He brings to me! Betty Lou Hebert |
