High school - mommy school
Nothing in between
Command care-free ways
Pretend not to know

See friends unchanged
I am
Altered forever
Uninformed

Innocence fades

Ultra awareness
Though not wanted
I try
Massive duty

Creator of chaos
But oh the love, the nuisance, the order, the joy
Devoted yet lacking

Innocence gone

Child grown
Struggle to grab time
That has come and gone
Progress or regress

Lucid hindsight
Sacrificed with no clue
Greatness achieved
Bittersweet the girl’s hushed youth
Ultimately glorious

Acknowledged gifts
Seek no regret
Owner of wisdom
Called to higher learning early, yet flawless

Repeated cycle
Refuse but believe

Outer youth departing
Feel it bubbling Inside
Perfect young grandma ready to play

Innocence lives
