My New Year's Eve Party

I'm invited to a New Years's Eve party
It's a lovely dinner cruise.
Though I'm not a hardy sailor
I've only my dinner to lose.

I could be sitting at home alone,
I can't believe my luck.
I'm more used to tailgate parties
From the back of some old truck.

I'll be mingling with the privileged,
Hope they don't know I'm a fraud.
It's my first time on a liner
Since I've never sailed abroad.

We'll be circling the city
Watching the fireworks display.
I know its going to be a wonder
Not experienced every day.

So tomorrow I will tell you
All about the big affair.
I'm sure it will so be exciting
I'll have lots of things to share.

Hope you had a wonderful time Joyce! My husband and family used to go out on our sailboat,and do that when we lived in Seattle years ago. Nice way to see the old year out!
