It's given to us once each year,
All free and ours to keep,
A lovely lazy, extra hour
To stay abed and sleep.

I carefully set back the clocks,
Each one, I wasn't choosy
A bonus hour of sleep except
I forgot to set back Suzy.

My doggy's gone, the price too steep
That buys me one more hour of sleep.
She left me lonely and bereft,
When God called her and Suzy left.

A poignant write, dear Joyce. You would gladly renounce that extra hour if only she was still there. But in a way she is, because they always connect with us. I am sure you feel this too.
