" Autumn's Embrace" At last the Summer's existence Has left for it's hiding place Until it's return next year Now we have Autumn's grace How sacred and sweet the colours be Brilliant in all its charm Crisp and clear the air is Just a sight for all to feel and see As the sun 's light shimmers Perhaps for a day or two The rain and early dusk Reveals the old and new Harvest what gifts are before you Smile and Laugh with delight While thankfulness and reflectiveness Are most impressive upon the gaze Of the celestial moon's light The leaves dance in the wind Acorns cry as they hit the ground Smokey scents scour the air Such things are profound Time to take stock Learn and behold Love and receive No matter how young or old Grasp the notion of what it's all about Find your niche in this place Gather your spirited soul And there before you Is Autumn's Embrace... © PurplePenButterfly2009 |

I am also an Autumn lover so really enjoyed this. I think there is something in the comforting chill of this season that consoles a poets heart! |
