Within my core, I’ve trapped this demon, He is not slain, for I have only captured him just now- Each day as it seems, he grows stronger, and I weaker, For the bars of my mind bulge outwards, Every moment, I fight a silent battle, To keep him quiet is my goal, But their has to be some outlet, For he overpowers me with his presence, Struggling to keep pace its rise, My life has become his dominion, As I grab hold of what little consciousness- I am spared and speak the lines once more, Hear me speak of a warrior’s promise, In the face of adversity, I shall be a monolith, All I ask in return is a proof of your existence, And for the time being, the demon subsidies, I’ve won many battles, but the war inside of me rages on- Gasping for some peace, I finally admit my struggles, Spilling my case across these word, I shut my eyes and feel his presence, Scrapping away at my inner core, But I shall stand strong, For I am built human tough, I let out a breath, and with it a little of him, Until the next time he wakes and takes what little I have. I speak insanity. I write fantasy. I sleep reality. |

Oh yes i lovwed this one. I think even the meekest of us all have a similar demon caged up inside. Some hold him at bay well and others have little control but to be honest he does damage either way. Well written and enjoyed here. June |
