Larks turned into ravens and sun lost in night's forest of shadows and mist, couldn't find morning again. Galloping clouds in the shape of gazells fell into the sea along with the lions and all turned to salt again. Wind whistled laments through maples and river birch, turned summer leaves the brown shades of autumn again. Winter rode in on thundering hooves, a wild eyed blue stallion bearing the ice princess who dared not love again. Moon drew her up on pity's wing rocked her as a child in its milky crescent and sang her the lullabye of trust again. |
