Musing On Monet

In houses where Monet would dwell,
Some lovely gardens lay as well.
There he spent so many hours,
Painting images of flowers.
Waterlilies, every hue,
Held quite a fascination too.
These paintings that he left behind,
Bring such tranquility to mind.
Reflect the graciousness of ways
That people lived in those lost days.
He loved the light that changed each day
As quiet hours slipped away.
He'd study how it altered all
The scenery, how shadows fall
And how the colors too would dim
Or brighten, at the sunlight's whim.
His artistry remains today
Uniquely his, in every way.

I love Monet. This is a fine tribute to his genius.

the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost

You're right.  Monet certainly had his own lasting style.  It took you to write a poem about it.  thanks.  Joyce

trillium, enjoyed "musing on monet"...a refreshing poem...a beautiful piece of work! interesting...how light influences perception. monet's water
lily series is an excellent example.
