I want you to be safe in my heart you see Everything we thought we knew came to us and grew A distant sun burns in your eye only to be put out when you cry So I say things to make you smile hoping you know I love you all the while Today will be tomorrows past with luck our love will last This may sound like a poem you heard before simple and boring just like Al Gore. |

It's hard to believe I was once so small It's hard to believe I could grow so tall Time has come to pass On the soiled floor Hidden by the grass I shed leaves no more What all was lost ? A forest without a tree What was the cost ? To cut and harvest me It's hard to believe thoughts so small It's hard to believe in nothing at all light has come to pass what more to say Gold to silver to brass Getting tarnished each day See something? I don't see Say something? I don't agree Can't see the waves crest? look at the sea's Can't see the forest? look at the trees |
