Gone Where do poems go when they die; to some poetic heaven in the sky or do they go to some darkened, desolate literary pile to be forgotten, forever, when the crumpled pieces or pitched into a dingy, cyberspace circular file? Where, oh where, do the dead pages go, buried deep in that wretched hole? So deep, even the aging poet cannot find, for, when its out of sight, its out of mind. |

When they are posted here, into the archives. You can't imagine how many time I have searched for and found them there when they are hiding in my own files. Joyce |

yes, joyce, i agree. the archives represent a good filing spot. however, wrote the poem, "gone", after losing a poem that i had placed on another site. i contacted the site and they couldn't explain what happened to it. they said it couldn't be retrieved. one day it just disappeared. the poem was titled, " code red and the fedex man". so, i guess its "gone" to cyber heaven or the other cyberplace. |

I often write a poem out of the spur of the moment. I forget to print out a copy or to store it some where on my PC. If I by chance happen to stumble by it at a later time I see it was good or bad. But many times I remember part of the rhyme and want to see the entire poem, yet I can't find it any more. I guess I should prewrite my poems and store them, before posting them any where. I like you poem it is so true. Bea-ing the Queen of my hive. |
