Queen of the Night ~*~  Pale, fragile flowers, doomed to bloom In shadowed hours, your perfume, Adorns the night, but few can see Your white and perfect symmetry  And do the stars lean close to spy Upon the washes where you lie? Does the moon rise early too, So she can spend more time with you?  Then as she lights your glowing face, Does she desire to take your place? You are too tender for the sun, So with each night of glory done, You slowly fold your petals so Your fragrant loveliness won't show.  Until night's mantle starts to creep Across the sands, you stand asleep! ~A marriage of Betty Lou's poetry and Marge's photography~ *The Queen of the Night is a night-blooming cactus* |
