the nights don't end like they used to anymore its something i've grown accustomed to a feeling, a thought, an idea that would never come to fruition under the orange glow of sun sinking into the bottomless ocean in my mind it's so loud i can barely hear anything the chill of the concrete under my feet flows through my soul and suddenly my head's a little clearer i remember that awkward smile of yours the look you gave me that said nothing is going to be okay is something i had grown to miss (it was better to hear it from you) speaking without saying a word was our favorite past time the fidgeting and funny faces was but a subordinate clause that the our mouths are forever kept shut in a world oblivious to our existence all i feel is water and shore there's nothing that needs to be done about faded passion for living a bit more so we'll sleep in a little more often and spend time screaming at the sun for showing its face at a time like this the night sky existed for our eyes only your beautiful brown eyed frown reflecting the icy moon hidden deep inside of you that feeling derived from an air of meloncolic anger inhaled deep into the crevasse that is my soul as my heart is set aflame with a disgusting passion no longer satisfied with exchanging longing gazes after dark but our love remained manifested only in our own minds our lustful but emotionless caresses evidence that we had lost the ability to love and be loved we'll wander aimlessly and take the entire world in avoiding the sobering warmth of the sun to live another moment in our sentimental oblivion a look a touch a reminder that i will always love you as long as we relish in the feeling of living in a world oblivous to its own existence so sleep in a little more I want life in every word, to the extent that it's absurd.- The Postal Service |
