Rural Road

I meander a solitary path,
Adorned richly by nature
In uncultivated meadow grasses,
And garnished ornately…
With flowers of the wild.

I slip silently between rows
Of crunched cottages,
The main roadway
Of a small village,
Where the only thing
…going anywhere
Is wandering, winding me.

I go from here to there
Bypassing the modern world,
With all its drama and disturbances.
Instead I am settled in the solace
Of a more considerate yesterday.
Where my paving has been trampled only
By bare feet, sandals and boots,
And the wooden wheels of rickety wagons.

I meander a solitary path,
But not one of loneliness,
For I am adorned richly by nature
In uncultivated meadow grasses,
And garnished ornately…
With flowers of the wild.

Spirit:  A lovely poem and I certainly can relate to what you say. I am a country dweller and only go to town when I must!

I really liked the line "for I'm adorned richly by nature", that's a great sentiment.
