Don't Tell The Bees! My girl friend Beryl and I had heard That if news items had occurred, Whether sad or bound to please, You need to tell it to the bees! Her father had a group of hives Occupied by avian lives, So convenient for the telling. We could feel impatience welling! Then at last with news to relate, We hurried out, we couldn't wait, But when we saw the active scene With bees flying in between The busy hives, we thought we should Climb on a shed made out of wood, Then from that vantage point, reveal, This item we thought had appeal! That's what we did, but do you know, Those bees decided they would go See for themselves if this was true. In one great cloud then, off they flew. We lay as still as lumps of stone, Until we knew we were alone, But then we heard her father yelling. What he said I'll not be telling! It left us feeling some confusion.
