Somewhere in Somewhere

Somewhere in this universe
Is a space where nothing really is
Where time is a liar
And where the laws of the natural world
Fall at the feet of greater things

Somewhere the earth is soft
As it prepares for the cleansing rain
That will fall down to kiss the feet
Of the earth that loves it so
At least that’s what I see

Somewhere there is peace in the world
Enfolded by darkness
But how else do we get anything
At least anything worth having
It is always shrouded in misery and doubt

Man is essentially evil
We are only good through teachings
Those of men much wiser, maybe even not-men
That tell us we can be better
At least better than we thought

and in the daylight i miss the nightmare- but deathly fear it in the dark of night

It's really hard to find a place on this Earth that hasn't been corrupted in some way. Not sure if that was what you meant in those two lines, but that's what I got from it. Excellent work Kate.
