Everyday I wake, with tear stained cheeks quickly I wash my face trying to hide my fear, sorrow and pain, For my young age, I have seen far too much. I hide behind a pretty smile never letting others see the wound in my soul where happiness was. I try not to break, try not to cry, have to hold it all in It’s been years, but I can’t let it go, the past creeps and crawls trying hard to break through, but I don’t let it, I suppress it back behind my mask. |

umm i have on one of my poems a line much like your poem. masks are needed, but try oh try so hard to not let it define you. you define you and nothing else. -Reddetta I stuck my bare hand into your rip cage and fished around until I found your heart ripped it out tore it apart while saying You dont need this anymore |
