I can't believe it happened So unexpected, and so fast Just like that we were standing face to face Flooded by our past My mother scoffed and turned away My sister huffed stormed off with a glare But I found myself immoble And all I could do was stare You smiled and you hugged me I know I must have felt so stiff Observing me one over you said 'Honey, you haven't changed a bit' My eyes well up with tears I know I won't let stream 'Hey dad, how's it going?' Ohmigawd, I'd like to scream We talk about your new wife And the son by your side I can't help but feel pity I recognize the pain held in his eyes I introduced you to my best friend He refused to shake your hand He's listened to my ranting before And unlike you he understands Then came the awkward silence I knew I'd have to face Suddenly and without warning I'd slapped you on your face 'How dare you pretend That anything's alright How quaint that you've forgotten What you did to me that night' And like the coward you've always been Without a word you walked away Everybody that's what happened When I saw my dad today |

wow. thats really sad. if it really happened than i'm sorry. really sorry. i guess seeing things like this makes me really grateful i have a dad. thanks for sharing this poem its really good and i like what it says. well- i mean...i dont LIKE whats happening.. umm do you know what i mean?? i just like the poem! haha gosh! |

whoa sad, hope didnt really happen to u. makes me feel good that my parents arent divorced and my dad is cool a little overprotective and annoying but a good father. im so sorry if that really happend. good poem i liked flood by our past beautiful line |
