He has to be blind to think I’m beautiful,
But he tells me so every day.
He has to be crazy to think I’m amazing,
But he shows me in little ways.
A touch of his hand, a smile on his lips,
Sometimes I think I’m living a dream.
And I worry what will happen if I wake up,
But I know that it’s real when he calls me…

I’m nowhere close to perfect,
I argue and curse and rebel.
And where I came from is far from heaven,
But he still calls me angel.

Sometimes I get stubborn,
And start spoiling for a fight.
He takes it all right out of me,
When he says, “Good night.”
I bother him every day,
Because I’m always worried for him.
He just smiles, says, “I’ll be OK,”
Even if it does look grim.

I’m not extraordinary,
But I don’t think he can tell.
I think he’s the one saving me,
But he still calls me angel.

And sometimes he’s quiet, and I think, “Maybe…”
Then he smiles and says, “I love you, baby.”

I don’t know if he’s quite right in the head,
But I love him like hell.
I’m so far from innocent I don’t know what it looks like,
But he still calls me angel.

I've stopped fighting my inner demons... we're on the same side now.

you know, every time i see your screen name I picture floating lily pads and water nymphs and fairies with honeysuckle and jasmine.
perhaps, it's my head.

This is really sweet, and cute. Your poems are always good. I would be interested to see a poem from the viewpoint of the one calling you angel. Up for a challenge?

i like this alot it makes you wonder how easily it is to relate to such a poem its very well written i applaud you good job

I'm at a loss for words. i agree with everything these people are saying. this is amazing and i bet we can all relate to this in many way from both perspectives. I like Riha's thought that is would be cool to read a poem from the other persons perspective.
