How come when you look at me
You only see the things you despise
Cheerleader's skirt and halter top
Makeup around her eyes

You called me a bimbo
And said I looked so cheap
I tried to fight back
But I was too weak

So you push me out into the world
Pretend I'm not your daughter
But it's crazy out here ya know
I'm like a lamb sent to the sluaghter

What you can't see is what lies within
A heart beating in pain
I only used the pom-poms as a cover
As I was going insane

If I cut my hair and died it from blonde to black
Would you stop acting a fool
No, you'd complain about being gothic
Cause there's no pattern to what you do

Well I can't please everybody
And you're un-pleasable for sure
Why the Hell do you think two other children
Have already walked out your door

So go ahead and look at me
Seeing what you despise
Ignore the girl with a broken heart
Tear stains around her eyes

very emotional first post, very good. that was crazy good.

slaughter is spelled that way just so u know. but other than that all good

Awww, Kiara. This is great. Really, I'm not just saying that because you're my baby sister. Lol. I loved the line about the two other children. I'm guessing you're talking about Peter and Sydney right? Oh well, good job. Can't wait for you to post more.

Hi Kiara,

Welcome to passions!~ How awesome to get a new member to the teen section of piptalk!

Interesting poem, it’s kind of intense to read. At first I wasn’t sure who “you” were talking to in the poem, I thought you were talking to people in general, the ones who put cheerleaders in their “category” but I thought it was neat how you were actually talking to a parent(?), at least I think you were. It put a little bit of a twist into the poem, which was cool.

Wait… you two are siblings? How awesome! I wish I could get some of my family interested in poetry, unfortunately I’m the only odd duck out there willing to give it a go, unfortunately for all of you who have to read my poetry that is… lolz

Anyway, great job on the poem and I hope to see more in the near future from you

Yes, sadly we're sisters. I'm the older one though so HA! OMG, I'm so happy b/cuz Byron- the coolest guy EVER- is going to join as soon as his mom gets off his PC!!! YAY!!!

NOOO! I hate Byron, he's such a lozer. Besides, if he joins he gets to see all the poems you wrote about him. And all the comments you wrote with his name in them. Jeez, he'll think your a stalker.

lol, and whoa thats awesome that u guys are siblings.

kiara, ur style of writing kinda remind me of nostalgic kinda.

just a little. but yeah thats awesome, none of my family writes poetry my dad has is feet way too firmly planted on the ground, my mom just isnt like that, my brother is not capable of writing anything meaningful hes kinda young, my older sis i dont think so.

Hey Kiara! I really enjoyed this first post by you. The poem itself was well written and was a great read, I'm just hope that your parent can look and you and see the real you and be proud.

God, Kiara, you're killing me. As much as I would love to laugh and say it sucks, it doesn't. So... darn, this is going to ruin our relationship. It was good. Fine, I said it. Hmph.
