Fighting for what you believe Keeping faith in serene peace Being strong as tremors try to shake me down Standing tall as cracks open up in the ground Staying loyal to the ones that love us A Counting on them to help in our distress Strengthening our hearts to fight Knowing always what is right Refusing to give up, I must still try M even as I wipe away the tears I cry being true not believing all the lies we are told, asking the question Why? Accepting who we are, not being afraid of change E Uniting in truth, defending the weak without shame Teaching hope and learning how to trust, rely On each other, not letting things go awry My feet are firmly planted, as the wind goes R hurricane, hits me with each staggering blow Still we are strong hand in hand One country, forever we stand We will never fall I Answer each other’s call Staying up without fail My face is proud thru the gale They tried to break us, without success C Tried to confuse and make us guess We stood strong through that trial Back and ready though it’s been awhile Come and challenge our depths A We will show you our best United we were, united we stay Listen now; listen well to what we say You will never break us and make us tear We’re not scared, but you live in fear We were together even then Our strength will carry on again * in remberance of 9\11 the events that day that took too many we will remember them live because they can't our prayers will be plenty |

Yet another good poem by you. Yes this is a very worthy thing to write a poem on, and I believe you wrote a poem worthy to remember it. |

Hi Rhia, I must admit I’m stunned at how well this poem turned out! It’s an amazing show of the loyalty and courage of our country. I think that this is one of my favorites by you. Although, I must admit the letters beside the stanzas were a bit confusing at first. I was expecting the letters to have something to do with each stanza, like A- apple, M- music, or something like that, if you know what I mean? I liked how you put the letters next to each stanza; it was different. Thanks for sharing this piece! "I pray thee, O God, that I |

Wow, I can't believe you haven't gotten more replies for this poem of yours. It is a wonderful tribute to 9/11 and everything that has happened. ~Alli~ |
