broken heart Pictures, Images and Photos

Under my bed
Collecting dust
lies a metal box
starting to rust.

Its shape is unusual
heart shape you would say
Its welded at the edges
It hasn't seen the light of day.

Its been kept in the shadows
Hidden in shrouds of darkness
Locked under key
And is cold in the silence.

I see its been beaten.
Its wounded and a vulnerable thing.
But its hard on the outside
And its a shallow nothing

My fingers trace the outlines
Of the cracks and its battle scars
each one of them painful
But has a special part in the memoirs.

I pick up the box
Hold it close to the empty void
To wear my heart use to be
is now destroyed.

I brush off the dust
And hold it with care
"I know I abandon you once
But now I'll always be there."

oh my goodness zach!!!! that was absolutly stunning!! it was very sad, and i've felt that way too, but wow!!! it was amazing, to put it simply.
such a wonderous job on this one, shall i say..? lol...
library a thousand times!!!!!

I love this! The last line touched me! This is beautiful! I liked the rythm and the way it was worded!
