I don't know how this happened
but suddenly I'm here
waiting for that day
when I walk down the aisle
and meet him--at the altar
dressed all in white
a dress unlike any other
and I'm impatient--
laughing--
happy.
That emotion I once thought
that I would never feel again.
He's taught me how to feel it
he's shown me that its here,
all around, just waiting
for some unperceptive person
to suddenly see its glow
he's made me see there's so much more
than following the rules of life
that its not necessary
to stay the same person
that I've always been
with him I can be
the who I am
with him I can be
smiling--laughing--
        happy.
He's banished the demons
        I had created.
He's killed the monsters
        I put under my bed.
and I don't know how to thank him
I can't make him understand
how much he means to me.
how much he's done for me.
But I am waiting,
now and always,
for the day my dream
comes true.

Remember:Tuck your chin, you're going to get hurt, so expect it and be ready. You might as well see it coming.
