Gunshots pierce the air with violence Hatred coats tears of those without hope Fighting undeclared wars in silence Only constant is always being told no Shots steal beating hearts and childhoods they are blocked out from the rest of the world because of what they bring condescended to and very misunderstood Born to feuds that aren't theirs, they are original gangsters offspring Children of gangs that represent belonging in a country that doesn't want them Guns and knives are the weapons of a generation muted by expectation Neglected to grow and die on the streets-not listened to just condemned Voices who dare to speak up are silenced by unanimous discrimination Poverty and desperate conditions motivate hungry mouths to steal Seen for their color gives no one the incentive beat the stereotypes Killing dominates the soldiers world who don't know how else to deal A shallow media wants statistics and stories with ignorant lies |
