inside the shadows

another bad day
that begins
with broken
glass.
fallen tears
and unconscious dreams
that transform
into dancing shadows
of the night.
she’s torn,
she’s scared,
she has nothing
to hold onto.
she needs someone,
anyone,
to care about her.
she craves a love
different
than the love she has experienced.
her heart continues to ache
for the one to rescue her
from her fall
of shattered tears.

another bad day
that begins
with the poison
of inhaling
that broken cigar.
demonic laughter
dripping down the sides
of his sweat covered
hands.
he’s shaking,
he’s hurt,
he has nothing
to hold onto.
he needs someone,
anyone,
to care about him.
he craves a love
different
than the love he has experienced.
his heart continues to ache
for the one to rescue him
from his fall
of damaged tears.

another bad day
that begins
with the blood
of pain
and the smoke
of agony.
dark fog
swirls around their ankles,
trying to pull them
down.
she’s scarred,
he’s crushed,
they’re aching.
she needs someone,
he needs someone,
they need each other.
they craved a love
different
than the love
they had experienced.
their hearts no longer
continue to ache,
for the one who was needed
to rescue them
from those days of despair
and those nights of anguish,
had been there
all along.

So cut me into pieces and tape me into something beautiful...
