Precious Gift From Above:

I considered all options
Abortion came to mind
Finally decided against it
Though the decision was all mine

Adoption was also there
I could easily give you away
But then questions about you
Would be with me every day

A single mother with no real career
I know what people will say
Oh, look...she's out with her kid
Today must be welfare day

I have a job I rather like,
Will parental leave be enough?
Or when I get back from my leave
Will they finally toss me out

Babysitting, day care, formula,
Diapers, clothing, car seat
Making sure the both of us
Have enough food to eat

I'll tell you that I love you
And you know I will mean it
My social life will be on hold
For a few years, at the least

I like to drink, but I could spare
And drugs are a losers choice
I'm not sure if I'm ready to raise you
But everyday you shall hear my voice

Though still a few months away
You are already greatly loved
And I am so thankful each day
For my precious gift from above

And loving your baby will be enough to get you through this... the rest will just fall into place.
