Change The Channel

I am my own woman
I stand in this crowd
Of pushing, of chanting
The silence so loud

My body is still,
My body is frozen
I remain unchanged
While life is still moving

Around and about me
It seems I’m alone
In my quest to remain
Myself and my own

I resist against times
I resist against change
People reluctant to follow
To me this is strange

Everyone is changing
I’m getting left behind
Is this such a bad thing
Or a blessing in disguise

I want to be individual
I want to be my own
But this could mean
I might end up alone

My quest to myself
Could mean solitude
People are sheep
With no attitude

I am my own woman
I want to be right
But is it worth the pain
Is it worth the fight?

I know exactly what you mean! Best of luck... I know the ideals can be hard to mesh, and sometimes you feel like you're walking in a fog. Keep yer head up.

Whatever happens you write great poems! :p
