I had hoped that there could be this chance. Dreaming of that moment, wanted it so bad. To have one song with you, one slow dance. Hoped it could end in more, not so sad. Your arms around me at my waist. It seemed so right, you and me. Holding me tight, our faces Close, this is what I had dreamed. Then you left, and walked off. I still don’t know why you did. Any excuses you have won’t be bought. You left me standing, when it all fit. Took all the guts I ever had, To believe I had a chance. I tried to be casual when I had to ask. You said yes, that you would dance. You left me on the dance floor standing alone. Tears wanting to fall down my cheeks in pain. Walking off away to my friends, before it could be shown. So no one could see me red and blurry eyed in shame. Left me standing by my self. As everyone else danced. Everyone shrugged it off, no one tried to help. Didn’t think it meant anything, a chance. She saw through me, knew I was real. Having gone through it weeks before She knew what I was going for how I must feel. Told me I was better, when you left me on the dance floor. |
