Mirror When I look into The slickened glass of all I see my hatred staring back The silvered tears that fall When I look into All the world around I set foot on trodden dirt And onto road I’m bound When I look into Past, future and this day I see only beaded blisters Growing debts I’m due to pay When I look into The old scars and the new That map my tender skin Stark red like drops of dew When I look into The hopeless, endless cave I feel a sense of relief as A path of punishment is pave When I look into My own cold, bitter eyes I only see myself staring back My tears, my fears, my lies When I look into A life of twisted thorns That entwine my sooty heart Rises does the bloodied dawn When I look into The vein of loss and plea It’s then I stumble on weary feet And find the urge to flee When I stand upon my chains That tie me to my being I open twisted lashes And then I begin seeing Its as my tired pupils Find the light in dark I turn my self to mirror And see a portrait more than stark When I look into A life marked with filth It’s then I can accept it And I can begin to fix myself As per usual, thanks for taking the time to read my work, and comment. =] |
