Written away in the pages
Of this dark bitter descent
Lies another timeless memory
Full of hatred and resent

The words are bruised and broken
Their meaning harsh but true
Their edges tattered and torn
And all because of you

Every mark holds an answer
Every letter makes a word
Those words then make a plea
A plea that’s never heard

You hide behind your innocence
Act as though it’s okay
Another lie another innocent
But all that changes today

Everyone makes mistakes
But yours, they never stop
It seems you never learn
I guess this is your shock

She won’t be waiting for you
She’s done with all your pain
All the lies you’ve told her
Are driving her insane

She packs her bags
She’s really done
You’ve broken her daughter
You’re not getting her son

Soon enough she wakes up
Blood running from her eye
She stands up to walk away
But she can’t seem to say goodbye

Every night she passes out
To the sound of your voice
She’s beaten and broken
If only she had a choice

The story of her life
She’s only thirty three
A mother of two
The aunty of me

Written away in the pages
She keeps all her pain
The truth about her husband
The man who drives her insane

He’s just the excuse
She’ll always need
He’ll alway be the man
She married in greed

But honestly this poem hits close to home..
I know parents who get abused.. Sad isn't it?
