Why Did I change For You?

You weren’t anything to me—at first.
Just another guy who’d be gone by fall.
Why was it all different?
How come my standards changed for you?

I could never admit it to myself,
I was scared of what the truth would do.
And now as I say to myself “I love you”,
You’re already gone from my grasp.

Dexter—I know you love me...
I’m admitting my mistakes for you.
Could you come back?
Could you come and make me whole?

So as you are here now,
Underneath me breathing steadily,
And our lips lock for a moment with passion,
I hear you say “I’m sorry Remy, I truly do love you.”
