Lover’s Ball

It started off just
Plain fun,
Nothing was going
To happen.
A happy song
Filled the room
And your touch
Sent warm sensations
Through my body.
But when you disappeared,
I went out to look
For you.
In my mind,
You were gone forever,
And when I found you,
I knew that’s what
You’d chosen.
Go, be with her,
This is over.
We are over.
What we had was
A lie, nothing more.
Everything you said,
While thinking of her.
Now I understand,
Why you said those things.
I was just back-up,
Wasn’t more,
And never will be.
