Ever Bright (To all who have ever felt pain) I saw a candle On the floor It dripped wax A puddle formed But more alarming Than even this No one seemed To care Light cast long shadows For it flickered On the cold Dark floor I recall now Another scene Where wax dripped Uncaring T’was quite a Broken heart Though it seemed So fair T’was mine very Home and I shudder to Recall All the self-inflicted Pain that Flickering candle Became Now light shines From the Sky-lights while Shadows hide in corners And as I enter This poor scene Of dark night I do shudder For I see Reflected horror Mirrored though Worse it be I’d save the Flickering candle I’d clean the cold Hard wax Though I care Enough you see The power Is not in me The brightest Light Shines from The Sun Into all broken Hearts, the candle It is merciless But dawn comes Ever Bright Sanity is NOT a matter of statistics. |
