Happiest “You’re not happy,” He said to her face Her voice raised no protest To her disgrace Her mind thought it false, Her heart knew it true How could she be happy When she’s splitting in two She was not in misery To be right and exact But she wasn’t in joy Her soul was racked If only they knew The truth that could cut And sever the ties That questioned the what The eternity of forever And the license of life That gave us permission To live amid strife But the truth I would say All hell would it make Let us leave it alone This was all I could take But reality’s cruel and unwilling The strange but true fact is I’m happier when I’m writing And happiest when I’m His and in the daylight i miss the nightmare- but deathly fear it in the dark of night |
