The Keeping House In the woods there is a Keeping House A place where souls may rest The servant slaves who work away Are better than the best The hungry wind may roar upon This unforgotten place But those who stay in sheltered bliss Find in Keep their base Unrosen cheeks and unshed tears Are never common place In fact the opposite in kind Is who may show their face The Keeping house is full and plump Content and light its home For children lost and traveler weary For all who need may come I am the Keeping house The great chimney is mine The love within has given shape To all who come- in time I am the servant slaves Who keep the Keeping House For non e do go unsheltered Though they be a mouse and in the daylight i miss the nightmare- but deathly fear it in the dark of night |
