Half Truth The truth is a wonderful thing And simple truths abound But in a life with shades of grey There’s one thing I have found The truth I tell is the one I know The half truth of my mind Half again in my expression Myself my friends will never find Read my poems; They lie less than I But they twist their explanations Which just then goes to show Of lifes many confutions I am a man who feels true joy And that there is the truth I know a friend who knows to laugh And that to is truth But true joy masks true sorrow A paradox for sure Laughter true can be unfelt And peace be marred by love When I look into your eyes Do I see the light of years? Or only of a moment? A joke on willing ears This is all that there is For us mortals bound A game with pieces never seen While words fly round and round Now I tell another lie A half truth will deceive Although of that my intentions Never could conceive The truth is a wonderful thing And simple truths abound But in my life with shades of grey This is all I’ve found "Be Strong and Always Remember what made you you."
