Kiss-up to Good Intentions

I’m a kiss-up to good intentions
The way I see it see- no one wins
So why take a chance on second chances
When we only get once to live

I know I sound heartless
But the cruel world ripped it out
My heart in all its glory
Was won over by doubt

But as I breathe a little more
It all evens out in the end
I’m just above the water
Taking in what salt air lends

Don’t you wish that tears could shed,
Where your eyes couldn’t see?
I’m drowning in this river love
Made from you and me

But as we all well know
The days of change are gone
Now all the world is left with
Is men consumed by throng

and in the daylight i miss the nightmare- but deathly fear it in the dark of night

I loved the third stanza but I thought some of the other ones could have flowed a bit better, however it was a great poem over all
