Shrouded with Shamed Intentions The day is dawning faster As I slip into the cover Of the secret inclinations That you have recently discovered A sly look from over shoulder The view I can not see You’re waiting for my falsehoods To rip and fall from me But my face- so carefully veiled It would take a thousand swords To scratch the shallow surface Of my armor made of words So why then try to hold my dear When what you see is all you’ll get I’m hiding from you love And I know that you regret The painful words and glances The way you would ignore The simple pleading askance For you to me adore But those days of games are over Because we live in years of now We can not retrace the steps There is no one there allowed So give up, the world would tell you, On that covered harpy ditz But you won’t because you discovered She is your only chance and in the daylight i miss the nightmare- but deathly fear it in the dark of night |

(a screaming yelling cursing noise is heard only seconds after Earl leaves the room. Several iprovised curse words (dang!, fetch, flippin game!) can be diserned from the otherwise indisphirable string of obviously angry sounds.) OK I'm back. Kate yet anouther amazing poem! As you can see it provoked a...strong reaction from me. I HATE the games of deciet lies and emtional detachment which your poem obviously describes. It's somthing we all see every day. The deeper meaning I got from it was a subtle love. Far to resemblant of my own current circumstances to not bring those feelings of cunfution, love and frustration! In short GREAT JOB KATE!!!!!! Thank you. Would you like to hear the story behind the lies and deciet? well i'll tell it hear and you can read if you wish. i have "loved" a few different people in my years. the first two i hurt pretty badly. not intentionally- i just had to get out for various reason of which are too complex to describe (and i know what you're in all likeliness thinking, that's not true things aren't ever as complicated as people make them out to be, well, this really is) but the last few have all left me scared. but the one i love now, he is wonderful- everything i could ask for he is (or is willing to become) but my pain is a greater pain to him than to me, so that is what i'm veiling, my pain. -Kate and in the daylight i miss the nightmare- but deathly fear it in the dark of night |

I think I may understand more than you know. (sigh) I am thinking I'm in my first 'love' and basicaly am in the opposite possition. And yes it is as complicated as people make it out to be. "Be Strong and Always Remember what made you you." Earl |
