I lie alone, mulling on ideas In and out of consciousness I slip As if my very essence ebbs away My possibilities are also my fears As if, on the way to heaven, I trip I must bite the bullet and choose today I cry alone, choking on my regret As all hope must now perish with a rush As I slowly stutter my excuses This is the lowest point in my life yet Frustrated, I give him a little push Burning out his already short fuses I cover my face, hiding my shame My errors were sensational Now everyone is hurt Like shrapnel in the dirt Unintentional No one’s to blame. I muse alone, thinking it through The tears have dried so I see Things haven’t turned out too bad And to my word I have stayed true A choice was made, so it will be I must learn from the painful lessons had I choose alone, making amends As the debris of hatred begins to clear And the aftermath is better than ever The choice I made is one to remember forever I know the ones I must hold so dear Are the truest and my best of friends I don’t believe in regret For if you change one mistake A thousand paths that’s right Would blow away out of sight And the inevitable wrong route you’d take Making the biggest blunder yet Life is like a photograph It must take negatives to develop And shake it though you may The ink wont wear away The memories simply envelop As I remember taking the righteous path |
